A bill is before congress that would force radio stations to pay huge royalties for the privilege to endorse artist and record labels.
Radio stations already pay royalties to labels and artists for this privilege . This could kill an already failing industry and give even more absolute power to the 3 or 4 media giants who already have a stronghold on the airwaves. The locally owned radio station, already a rarity will become a dinosaur. Public radio will be reduced to political talk. You may never hear another decent song on the radio.
