What is the best diet for an orphaned fledgling purple martin?
I’ve had one for 3 days and I cannot tell where he came from . He’s fully feathered, but appears to have a broken leg. He can fly just fine, but I guess he is too little to hunt for insects on his own. I can’t get in touch with anyone who can help me and I can’t find anything that tells me how to help his leg over the weekend. Have you had experience in feeding these babies and/or fixing broken limbs? On Monday I can take him to a rehabber, but if he isn’t well enough to join the rest of the martins, he won’t make it.
