What type of trim would you use around a window in a shower?
My house is a pain in the butt, to say the least. The bathroom was a TERRIBLE design. They never thought of a shower, so there is a window now smack dab in the middle of the tub. I am planning to put glass block where the window is now, but I need advice on the rest. What waterproof trim should I use to finish the area?
Water proofing any horizontal areas and around the window,Since it ll be tore apart, use a 1/2″ cement backer board and tile the whole area. Properly installed glass block should be flush w/ the backer board and then you can use a flat surface tile trim to set the edge just a 1/4″ over the block and then caulk that edge to seal it.
If the block has to be recessed in because of the out side wall or your walls are thicker, then add cement board on the inside framing and water proof to the block and return the tile to the block..Having tile there is your best bet. No wood at all if possible.
