Fish Nip

are these fish compatible, will they nip my kribensis’ fins/tail?

i have had 4 tiger barbs for 6 months now in a 20 gallon tank, they have never got sick or anything. i wanna add 5 blackskirt tetras and a kribensis cichlid in it, will the tetras and barbs get along with the kribensis?
will the kribensis attack the tetras??
is a 20 gallon tank with lots of big artificial plants in it, and a cave as well for the kribensis

Barbs are notorious for being fin-nippers. The krib might be alright and should be able to hold it’s own against them, especially if he’ll have it’s own cave. But kribs can get real territorial especially during breeding, but then its usually towards other dwarf cichlids. Other then that, they’re usually pretty peaceful.

The flowing fins of the black skirt tetras might be too enticing for the tiger barbs and I would expect a few nipped fins here and there. You may want to consider neons, cardinals, emperors or rummynose instead of you want to keep some schooling tetras with tiger barbs.
