can a pet bird (canary I believe) recover from direct flash photography?
A friend was taking a close-up picture of another friend’s bird that was in a cage. He forgot to turn off the flash, so the bird got blasted by the bright light.
A bunch of us got wondering whether if the bird would just shrug it off or if it would affect it in adverse ways. On one hand, birds in general have sensitive eyes. On the other hand, they may be resilient to this type of thing.
The bird didn’t have a beak (unlike say, parrots), or probably just a small one. It was gray and white feathered and pretty small. You make a fist and it would fit in it. That’s all I remember about it
It’ll be fine. I use the flash all the time when I take pictures of my birds, and it never seems to cause any problems. It just could be startling to a bird not used to the camera.
