I use lures for bass but they dont wanna bite?
I go to a small lake and its filled with blue gill, biggggg bass! and some grass carp
I have a bunch of lures for bass but none seem to work… I have about 6 different spinners, different sizes and colors, 3 floaters/chugger baits, 8 divers/all different sizes and colors, and then i have some lures that dive from 5-15 feet. Ill work them right in front of a basses face and somehow the bass just looks at it and then turns away. Then i hook on a bluegill and it demolishes it. I dont get this…. any reasons why the bass dont wanna bite these lures?? I also use soft plastics but those dont work either
You’re learning your spot. Every spot is a puzzle so what do you think you’re doing wrong? You have all these fantastic lures which are more than capable of catching any fish but you only get into the blue gills and then and only then does a bass demolish it. For me, this tells me that these fish are feeding but they want only what their used to. They didn’t get big by being stupid, these bass have seen past action. Here are some tips; lighten up the line ( go with a lighter pound test) , use fluorocarbon leader or line. Remove all snap swivels, beads and what not and leave only the knot that attaches to your rig. change up the lures to “match the hatch” ( use similar colored lures/ size as the forage they’re feeding on) and if you just want to cheat your way into a fight, go with a live blue gill. It’s called fishing, son, not catchin’ and we all have a puzzle to figure out on the water.~good luck catchin’
