anyone had experience with wyandotte chicks/chickens?

I have two 5 week old sl and gl Wyandottes. both have red combs and are starting to get wattles. they were supposed to be “sexed” pullets. also, there hackle feathers? look like aren’t rounded like a pullets, but some are kind of like hair feathers, while some are rounded? both are like this. is this just the breed, or are these signs of roosters? thanks!

Both pullets and young roos will have wattles and combs, so that is nothing to worry about. Could the “hairy feathers” be some of the down? Some of my girls had what I thought were pointy feathers. I think the easiest way to tell the sex on wyandottes is the color. The pullets coloring should have pretty uniform pattern throughout most of the bird, and seem to be overall darker than a male. The males start to get lighter heads wings, and rump areas.
I hope that helps!
