Here is why I think the Broncos should NOT draft Sanchez or any QB in the first round?
They need defense. Not just warm bodies, but impact players that can come in and play. They need to get some DL and some LB. They will get a big WR with Marshall being hurt (I like the Ramses kid) and maybe, maybe, draft a QB in the 5th or 6th round in the Pats mode. Now if Orton or Simms fall flat on their face, there are at least three good QB’s in next years draft. What do you think?
I am giving Orton a chance. You just can’t go two years in a row sub par with a QB.
You are 100% right there isn’t a quality QB in this draft in my opinion worth a first round pick. Orton should be a decent starter even though Simms has more physical gifts then Orton he hasn’t proven to me yet to have the mental part of the game (trust me I lived in Austin, TX during his whole college career the kid makes to many mental mistakes). Both Simms and Ramsey as the 2 and 3 isn’t bad. Denver needs defense bad and that should be there focus for the first three rounds unless a talented tightend or runningback falls into there lap. Later round draft the most talented QB on the board to compete for that third string position you might luckout and find a diamond in the rough. Go after Colt McCoy next year he is the real deal
