How to re-decorate my room?
At the moment, I don’t really have a room. My brother and sister are leaving for college in KS in a month, and luckily I am allowed to re do my sisters room, as I have 5 years until I go to college.
I’m into japanese culture, and I want that to be a big aspect of the room. I have a huge japanese fan that has cherry blossoms on it and a poster made from bamboo, that has hand painted doves on it. I was thinking about painting the walls a light purple color and then painting cherry blossoms on one of the walls?
However, I also love music. People have given me some music posters as well that I wanted to put up.
I’m ALSO into like 50′s vintage and black and white.
I’m just really torn. I really want a kind of japanese room, but with the music posters, I think it will be confusing?
What should I do?
You can’t paint the room light purple and expect everything to coordinate. I would suggest since you like so many different things that you try to keep the room a color that will enhance all your favorite things. You could very easily do one wall with your vintage 50′s things, another with your music posters and the last wall with your Japanese art. But I would not paint any of the walls to draw attention away from the other walls. You can make the room unique to you by how you arrange the things you have and just a fresh coat of white or off white paint maybe even a dark eggshell would work well too.
